One of the quotes I shared in last week’s motivational Monday collection really stuck with me, “Life is good, sometimes I forget that.” It was hammered home again after a whirl wind movie tour (three movies in two days) last week.
The quote resurfaced in my head as I was walking back to my car after seeing “Unbroken” (which I highly recommend; the book, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is on my reading list for this year). Sometimes I think my life is tough, and I know at times my life has been very tough, yet my worst day is nothing compared to anything portrayed in the film based on the story of Louis Zamperini’s life. I have lost a kidney, relationships, and loved ones; I have questioned God when he has made me wait and I haven’t been able to see the path he has for me, but I need to remember life could be always worse. Louis’ story is one of survival, resilience and forgiveness. When life gets me down I hope to remember not only could it be worse, but that others already have it worse than me.
With all that said, my motivational quotes for this week (from this film) are:
“However dark the night, however dim our hopes, the light will always follow darkness.”
“A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory.”
“If I can take it, I can make it.”
“Never give up. No matter what.”
I love this. What a great reminder for the first Monday of the new year! And I’d add one, “God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!”
