This was a big week for the great (and friendly) state of Texas…
We started off the week (March 2nd) with Texas Independence Day. For those who may not know, “Texas Independence Day is the celebration of the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836. With this document signed by 59 people, settlers in Mexican Texas broke from Mexico creating the Republic of Texas.” This day is important to Texans (#TexasIndependenceDay was trending nationwide on Twitter) and it makes our great state very unique; Texas is the only state in the union that can fly its flag at the same height as the American flag, and that is pretty really cool.
Today marks the end of the siege of the Alamo…“The Siege of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) describes the first thirteen days of the Battle of the Alamo.”
We also got more snow this week.

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone, even those not in Texas.
