Easter Bunny Project (Part 1)

I have a Christmas decoration collection that is by any measure massive, impressive, excessive, magical, any of the above, all of the above.
I have a hearty pumpkin decoration collection for Thanksgiving and Autumn. For the other holidays of the year, I have a wreath…maybe a pillow or two.
I decided I needed a new project (because all the others I have going were getting lonely). I decided to make something new for Easter.

I used the Rosy the Rabbit pattern from my Crochet Cute Critters book by Sarah Zimmerman to make a Mama and a Papa bunny.

I used the cat pattern from this book last Christmas to make quintuplet kittens (two of which went to England, one went to Las Vegas, and the other stayed in Texas with Benchley). These patterns are super easy to read and make.

I used Premier Yarns Serenity Chunky yarn in the color “Cloud Dancer” for Mama (I just happened to have this skein in my collection). I intended to do both bunnies in this yarn, but I did not have enough to do two, so I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and picked up some Baby Bee Sweet Chunky Delight yarn in the color “Flannel Marled”. And Papa turned out just as cute!

I followed the pattern…

…but embellished Mama by adding eyelashes with embroidery thread.

Part one of this project is simply the crocheting of the bunnies. Coming up soon: accessories, and the final display set up.
Stay tuned! And until then, happy trails and bunny tails!
